Martha Soffer will talk about her journey from Colombia, South America, where she had no previous background in meditation or Ayurveda. After learning the TM technique, she traveled to the United States in 1989 to join the Maharishi International University (MIU) Computer Science program. Her world changed in an instant when she met an MIU Ayurveda student.
Roger Soffer will talk about how they founded their spa as a home-based business and developed it into Surya Spa, a full-service Ayurvedic treatment center in the beautiful Proper Hotel in Santa Monica, California.
ABOUT MARTHA SOFFER
Ayurvedic pulse diagnostician, panchakarma expert, chef, and herbal specialist Martha Soffer is the co-founder of Surya Spa in Santa Monica. Ms. Soffer received her degree in Ayurveda at MIU in 1992. Later, she spent many months studying with Vaidya Manohar, Vaidya Triguna, and other distinguished Ayurvedic doctors in India. After graduating, she gained experience by treating MIU faculty and staff.
