Dr. Richard Beall has had a distinguished 40+ year career in education. In 1981, he and his wife, Andrea, helped establish Maharishi School in Fairfield, Iowa, the first complete Preschool–Grade 12 system of Consciousness-Based Education in the world. He has served as administrative director, teacher, coach, principal, and head of school for the past 17 years.
Dr. Beall earned a Master’s in Educational Administration and his Doctorate in Curriculum Development in 1996 at Maharishi International University. His dissertation was selected as the university’s most outstanding of the year. In 2003 Dr. Beall founded Carolina International School, an award-winning public charter school, and guided the school for four years. He returned to Maharishi School in 2008 and, during his tenure as head of school, restored the school’s boarding program and oversaw significant changes to the school culture and functioning. His passion for education encompasses special interests in individual learning differences and the holistic effects of developing consciousness.
