BEAUTIFUL TRADITION OF SEASONAL FESTIVALS
The Autumn Festival in the northern hemisphere, or Spring Festival in the southern hemisphere, continues the beautiful tradition of Seasonal Festivals inaugurated by Maharishi at the First Spring Festival of the Age of Enlightenment in Lucerne, Switzerland, on March 20, 1976, to celebrate the rise of consciousness with each new season, around the world, around the year.
“When we start a season with a global wave of celebration “Well begun is half done”. Every day of the season will be a wave of celebration and this is what the Age of Enlightenment is going to witness. This will be life in the Age of Enlightenment—always moving on and on towards greater progress and fulfilment in waves of celebration.”—Maharishi, First Spring Festival of the Age of Enlightenment, 1976
