Join the Canadian TM organization’s weekly Sunday knowledge meeting hosted by John Cowhig. The meeting includes a 20 minute group meditation followed by a lecture by Maharishi and Q&A. All TM meditators are welcome to attend.
Join us to discuss a talk by Maharishi on ideal relationships and behaviour: why telling the truth should not damage the feeling level.
Something we say may be true, but if we are untactful about it, the very purpose of truth — to uplift life — is damaged. The loss is greater than the gain. It’s a great art to respect the heart, even if we have to correct someone.
In this context, how do we deal with negative situations? In his book, The Science of Being and Art of Living, Maharishi suggests the weapon of choice (for most situations) is indifference. On core matters of principle, we stand like iron; for everything else, we just don’t mind. There is always a way to sidestep most negativity, to not get caught in other’s moods or stresses — and yet still uplift them.
In a world where finger-wagging critics and put-down cynics have the stage, let’s consider appreciation and love as the natural way.
