ABOUT THIS WEBINAR
Dr. Kathy Matara discusses how learning the Transcendental Meditation technique at a young age inspired her lifelong dedication to the development of consciousness. Her experience has led to a global mission to protect the planet—particularly by educating others on preserving the Earth’s oceans and marine life. She is currently focused on ensuring that emerging ocean-wide underwater communication networks are safe for both marine species and human swimmers and divers.
ABOUT KATHY MATARA
Dr. Kathy Matara began practicing Transcendental Meditation (TM) at 17 and became a TM Teacher in 1974. She holds an Honorary PhD in Development of Consciousness and a Bachelor of Science from Maharishi European Research University (MERU), as well as a Master’s in Higher Education and Administration from Maharishi International University (MIU).
A dedicated advocate for environmental safety and sustainable technology, Dr. Matara has worked since 2012 to promote safe technologies, leading initiatives to protect public health and preserve zero-radiation analog utility meters. Her current focus is safeguarding marine ecosystems from the emerging underwater acoustic internet by advancing fiber-optic and other non-invasive alternatives.
Dr. Matara represents the United States in international efforts to develop ocean-safe communication standards and leads collaborations among engineers, scientists, and environmental experts to protect the world’s oceans for future generations. On November 21st, 2025, she represents the U.S. at the International Conference in Berlin, where she will lead a workshop on the environmental and ecological risks of underwater acoustic signaling. This workshop will bring together experts in bioacoustics, marine biology, and network engineering to promote the development of ocean-safe communication technologies.
