ABOUT THIS WEBINAR
Surrealist artist Carl Yonder talks about how his practice of Transcendental Meditation® has helped him reach new levels in his art. He will share his journey, by showing and discussing his most recent large-scale work, Flood II, a multi-canvas painting that “folds” into itself, and another of his favorite paintings, One Out of Many. These paintings reflect his TM practice where he dives deep into himself, and with a calm centered state of mind, finds inspiration to create new works with fresh ideas after meditation.
ABOUT CARL YONDER
Carl Yonder is a visionary surrealist who lives and works in Maryland. His interest in art started at a young age, with support and encouragement from his parents and high school art teachers. As an adult, he continued to develop his self-taught skills, always exploring and building upon new ideas.
This drive led to Mr. Yonder’s successful career, exhibiting in Maryland and beyond. He won the Curator’s Choice Award in December 2020 for his work at the Brooklyn, New York, Greenpoint Gallery. He also had exhibitions with the I Like Your Work podcast, the Packard Group National Exhibition, Virginia’s Torpedo Factory Art Gallery, and recently at the Maritime Arts Museum in Solomons, Maryland.
In addition to group exhibitions, Mr. Yonder has had several solo exhibitions, including at the Greenpoint Gallery, Brooklyn, in 2021, and the Washington County Arts Council in 2024. His most recent solo show, Caravan, is scheduled for the Gallery Blue Door in Baltimore this winter. In addition, Mr. Yonder’s art was published in the book The Storyteller through Snap Collective, earlier in 2024.
