ABOUT THIS WEBINAR
Layman “Buzz” Allen, a longtime Transcendental Meditation teacher, shares insights into his family’s educational legacy through The Accelerated Learning Program, founded in 1998 by his father, Layman E. Allen. The program promotes creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving in education. Buzz recounts his father’s pioneering work in developing educational games—such as WFF ‘N Proof, created in 1962, which introduced students to symbolic logic—and its later math-focused adaptations, Equations and Onsets. These games were implemented successfully in inner-city schools, improving math achievement and reducing absenteeism. Allen also discusses his own work, teaching courses in Maharishi International University’s (MIU) Continuing Education program and his co-directorship, alongside his wife, Gail Crotta, of the Maharishi Global Archives housed in the MIU library.
