ABOUT THIS WEEK’S TM TALK
Dave Hanson, a jazz arranger, composer, and pianist, and longtime TM practitioner, will discuss the importance of his TM practice for his music and life. He will talk about the technique’s vital role in developing the consciousness of musicians, to help harmonize the joy of playing music with a joyful, successful personal life.
ABOUT DAVE HANSON
Dave Hanson has written for a diverse range of artists and ensembles, including Paul Winter, who is performing for the Boston Pops 100th anniversary; the Denver Brass and Boulder Brass; and for pops symphony concerts in Colorado, Houston, Milwaukee, New Jersey, and Pittsburgh.
Mr. Hanson is also the pianist, co-leader, and arranger/composer of the H2 Big Band, which has soared in the jazz radio charts with a series of recordings. The band has been featured in supportive and collaborative roles with Darius Rucker, Veronica Swift, René Marie, Take 6, Jon Faddis, Kevin Mahogany, Curtis Stigers, Clint Holmes, and Allan Harris.
Mr. Hanson studied jazz arranging at the Eastman School of Music. He was a longtime faculty member in the Jazz and Commercial Music Department at the Lamont School of Music, University of Denver. His music is published by Excelcia Music Publishing and Denver Brass Publications.
