Dear Governors and Sidhas,
At the 2,000 for World Peace Assembly last December–January, course participants expressed overwhelming interest in holding regular World Peace Assemblies.
The experiences of higher states of consciousness inside and outside the Golden Domes, the profound knowledge, the camaraderie, the joy—everyone wanted to experience it all over again. The Summer World Peace Assembly (WPA) was a wonderful success as well, with over 1,000 people taking part.
Course description
During the weeks of the upcoming Winter WPA, through daily group practice of the Transcendental Meditation® and the TM-Sidhi® programs, we will:
- Enhance our personal growth towards higher states of consciousness.
- Meet with TM-Sidhi Administrators to refresh our practice and discuss experiences.
- Create greater coherence and unity in world consciousness, which scientific research has demonstrated produces more positive global trends.
Highlights
- Videos of Maharishi on higher states of consciousness and other topics
- Sharing of experiences, with commentary by Dr. Hagelin
- Panel discussions with groups of MIU faculty about the Maharishi videos and other subjects of interest
- New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day celebrations
- Entertainment each evening, as on last winter’s WPAJanuary 12th Celebration, at 9:00 pm ET, to conclude the course
Special highlight: Celebrating the World Peace Project
We will share experiences from the 1978 World Peace Project—perhaps the most innovative peace-keeping mission in history. In a single worldwide operation over ten weeks, the negativity and violence in the most troubled areas of the world was dramatically calmed.
The project ended with a great breakthrough in international relations, when United States President Jimmy Carter announced on December 25, 1978, that the U.S. and China had decided to end nearly 30 years of estrangement. The two countries established full, normal diplomatic relations on January 1, culminating in the celebrated visit of Chinese Vice Premier Teng Hsiao-p’ing to Washington, D.C., later that month.
Were you part of the World Peace Project? If so, please join this assembly and prepare to share your experiences.
