Maharishi Foundation USA is a nonprofit, educational 501(c)(3) organization that oversees the teaching of the Transcendental Meditation technique and its advanced programs throughout the United States.
TM Centers teach the TM technique around the country
Its mission is to help everyone realize their full potential, and to assist in creating a healthy and peaceful society.
Maharishi Foundation USA provides resources for the TM follow-up program in the United States, helping to ensure that every meditator gains maximum benefit from their TM practice and has access to the ongoing guidance and support that comes with learning the TM technique.
It also administers TM Teacher Training Courses for the United States and provides resources for Certified TM Teachers to maintain the highest standards of teaching the TM program.
Goals of Maharishi Foundation USA
1. To provide the knowledge and means for everyone to unfold their full human potential and expand their consciousness to develop the limitless creativity, intelligence, and happiness within
2. To reduce societal stress and help develop collective consciousness that is harmonious, thereby freeing government from a nation’s quagmire of problems, allowing it to more efficiently serve the people
3. To realize the highest ideals of education by offering the knowledge and technologies for the full development of consciousness for the student
4. To solve the problems of crime and drug abuse through a program of human development that addresses the root cause of anti-social behavior—stress and imbalances in the human nervous system
5. To establish a harmonious, life-supporting relationship between human beings and the environment
6. To bring fulfillment to the economic aspirations of individuals and society
7. To offer the tools and knowledge for all individuals to achieve inner peace, and to implement large-scale peace-creating programs that will bring lasting peace to society and the world
Expansion efforts
- Opening new TM Centers in the United States
- Providing support for academic and scientific institutions to conduct research on the TM technique and its advanced programs
- Offering large-scale TM programs for schools and colleges, hospitals and clinics, business and industry, first responders and the military, offender rehabilitation programs, government, and other organizations
