Fall Weekend TM Retreat and WPA at Loyola Retreat and Ecology Campus, Woodstock, IL., Oct. 31- Nov. 3 (stay 2 or 3 nights)
October 31, 2025
November 3, 2025
Retreat Highlights:
Our theme for the weekend will be "Expanding Consciousness and Creativity in All Fields of Life" featuring guest speakers, Fred Travis, Greg Thatcher, Fred DeArmas, and Jan Thatcher.
Their presentation will explore and explain how we access creativity in the arts and, by extension, all other fields of life. While our TM practice provides a foundation for developing awareness, it further allows each of us to connect with our own innate creativity, providing us access to harness that creativity in whichever direction we focus our attention within our daily lives. While TM provides the silence and expansion of our consciousness, it allows us to see more deeply into our own creative process and how greater creativity fosters more dynamism and success in all areas of life.
If you are affiliated with Loyola, reduced fees are available. Scholarships are also available for those in need. Loyola Stritch, Niehoff, and other students are fully sponsored. If this is your first TM Retreat, you are eligible for $50 off the course fee. For further info or to make special payment arrangements, please contact Dr. Carla Brown, (641) 919-9616, Duncan Brown, (641) 919-706 or Mindy Tiberi at (847) 927-1535 to complete your application.

LUREC is approximately 50 miles northwest of Chicago.
If you are flying in, please let us know your arrival information. Chicago's O'Hare Airport is the closest major airport, about 40 miles from LUREC. Chicago Executive Airport (for private and small planes) in Wheeling, Illinois, is about 36 miles from LUREC. Please allow at least 1 hour travel time to and from either airport. Midway Airport is over 60 miles from LUREC. If you fly into any O’Hare or Midway, you can either take an Uber or Taxi or take the Elevated train (The L) to downtown Chicago and then catch a Metra train to Woodstock, Illinois.
Here is a link to the CTA (Chicago Transit Authority) website https://www.transitchicago.com/to get you from either airport to Chicago. Once you get to Chicago you will need to catch a Metra Union Pacific train from the Ogilvie Transportation Center.
Here is a link to the Metra website https://metra.com/. From there, take the Union Pacific Northwest (UP-NW to Harvard/McHenry) Metra line to Woodstock. LUREC is about a 10-minute drive from the Woodstock Metra Station, 90 Church St., Woodstock, IL. We recommend taking a cab or rideshare service from the train station to LUREC as the facility is located in a rural area and there are no sidewalks in the area leading up to the campus.
NOTE: If we are unable to assist in coordinating a ride for you, please be prepared to take an Uber or Lyft to or from either airport.
