The 10,000 for World Peace Assembly in Hyderabad stands as a landmark moment in the history of our global TM organization—a living demonstration of the power of collective consciousness. The primary shared sankalpa (intention) was to inspire the creation of a permanent group which will have an uninterrupted influence of peace and coherence in the world. The 2023-2024 gathering brought together distinguished spiritual figures, and representatives from many nations, united in a common purpose: to awaken harmony for all humanity through the collective practice of Yogic Flying—approximately the square root of one percent of the world’s population practicing together in silence and unity.

Fulfilling the Sankalpa – Permanent Groups for World Peace

Today, we are witnessing the fulfilment of that sankalpa. The momentum generated during the Assembly has inspired the creation of permanent groups of Yogic Flyers across India, to ensure that this wave of coherence continues to expand. By July 2025, six such groups had already been reported to be well underway. Four of these—in the Himalayas, Dehradun, Andhra, and Hyderabad—are now approaching 9,000 Yogic Flyers each. Construction of new flying halls is underway to consolidate these groups, particularly for the Himalayan Devis, where coordinated timing of practice is essential. At the Andhra project, the construction of additional space for a large flying hall at the same location is also in progress.

The first group is expected to reach the full 10,000 this year, while others are steadily growing and will share their progress soon. In addition, after twelve years of dedicated effort, the Government of Oaxaca has officially approved the establishment of a group of 10,000 Yogic Flyers in the capital city—a significant milestone in expanding coherence globally. These emerging centers are becoming radiant beacons of coherence—the living realization of Maharishi’s vision for permanent world peace.

The first scientific study on the global effects of the Assembly has just been published.

The Global Impact of the 10,000 Assembly

The newly released study has confirmed that the Assembly of 10,000 for World Peace did in fact produce a highly significant and lasting calming influence for the world.

Researchers Dr. Ken Cavanaugh and Dr. Lee Fergusson analyzed data from the Armed Conflict and Location Event Data (ACLED) system, focusing on the three most violent countries during the Assembly period—Palestine, Myanmar, and Syria. Their findings, published in the Journal of Maharishi Vedic Research Institute (Issue 28), show that during the Assembly in December 2023–January 2024, the total number of violent events in these three nations fell by 29%.

Even more encouraging, the downward trend continued throughout 2024 and 2025, reaching a 48% total reduction in violent events by October 2025. The statistical significance was very strong (p < .0001), providing robust support for the hypothesis that the predicted Maharishi Effect was achieved.

The authors conclude that the Hyderabad Assembly successfully created a coherent influence of peace radiating from India to the world’s most turbulent regions.

Building on this success, six large Yogic Flying® groups across India are developing, with four nearing 9,000 participants each. More groups are being organized, including in Oaxaca, Mexico, to strengthen the global coherence-creating effect.

In addition to the calming effect on the world, the sankalpa of the Assembly—to establish permanent large groups of Yogic Flyers for World Peace—is now being fulfilled. Two 10,000 groups are due to start functioning this month (November 2025), and many more countries and organizations have requested to host large groups. It is becoming a growing movement to participate in the creation of world peace through collective practice.
